The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and your message. Everything you write goes straight to us as an email, and nothing is kept on the site.

Your email address is used to reply to you and for nothing else. It is not published, not shared, and not added to any mailing list. If you would like to hear about new writing as well, there is a separate box for that at the foot of every page.

There is also a short form under each page of writing, for telling us about that page in particular - a wrong spelling, a name we have missed, a scan that is hard to read. Use whichever is easier; both reach the same person.

There is no puzzle to solve and no box to tick. You can send three messages an hour, which is plenty for a person and no use to a machine.

If something goes wrong sending your message, the page will tell you so and give you an address to write to directly. It will never say your message has been sent when it has not.
